We first met Tia and Dan at Tim Hortons as they were first delving into planning their big day. We were excited to hear that we would be filming at a new venue (Elora Mill) that we’ve never been to before. They hadn’t even seen the venue at that point in time as it hadn’t been built, but the description of what it was going to be sounded really amazing! When the day came, Elora Mill definitely delivered! The room where Tia was getting ready was stunning and was the perfect backdrop for her Q&A. I felt like I was on the set of a movie studio! The lighting and colours just worked perfectly with her movie-star looks. The ceremony space was also gorgeous – one of the best indoor spaces we’ve seen to say ‘I do’. A perfect base for all of your unique decor ideas. The reception space was brought to life by Tia’s mom, who worked tirelessly to make the details of the wedding perfect for her daughter and new son-in-law. Good job mama! And we can’t forget the incredible rooftop space! The cocktail hour was held there and honestly, the guests looked like they were having drinks and nibbles on holiday somewhere. Let’s just say there were a lot of options for your big day all in one space!
I know I briefly mentioned the Q&A just there, but we have to say that Dan and Tia really delivered with their answers! We had so much to work with in terms of audio to tell their story, before we even heard the vows or the speeches that night! It was so hard to decide what to use when it came to their highlight video as we were spoiled for choice. Their love for each other and their family and friends was crystal clear. Reminds us of Tiffany + Victor’s wedding and Antonella + Wilkin’s wedding where the bride and groom answers just came so naturally and genuinely.
Like the Q&A, we are always looking forward to the speeches in the evening. Parents often deliver the most unforgettable speeches, and this night was no different. Dan’s mom made us cry and laugh in a matter of minutes. There were so many parts of her speech that we could’ve used, but we only had 6 minutes! The funniest part was her scolding Dan and just being a typical mom. Totally cracked us up! Eventually we’re going to post her whole speech, because it was that good!
Looking back to this day and our first initial consultation, we remember that this lovely couple’s number one priority was about their guests having a good time. The day was just as much about their family and friends as it was for them, and they wanted to make sure everyone enjoyed themselves. We can say with 100% confidence that each and every person had a blast! Just look at their faces on the video! We love how dancing was incorporated into the reception program throughout the night. It was a great way to get everyone out on the dance floor at least once. As you can see in the video, people were letting their hair down and having fun to the max. The talented sax player sure helped with all the buzz!
Thank you guys for letting us be a part of all the excitement! We had so much fun capturing your love and the joy of all of your guests. Enjoy this next chapter in life – it’s a roller coaster of emotions but so worth it!
