Every year there’s that one date that everyone wants to get married on. This year it was 8.18.18. For those of you that are not Chinese, ‘8’ is the luckiest of numbers, hence making it the most popular date for us this year. After Gladys and Ryan booked us, we must have been asked about that date another 30 – 40 times prior to the day itself. Pretty nuts! That being said, Gladys and Ryan, we are beyond thrilled that it was you two and your families that we got to spend the day with. We wouldn’t want it any other way and couldn’t have asked for a sweeter couple to work with.
The wedding reception was held at the always beautiful Belcroft Estates. We filmed a few weddings in this location waaaay back, but the grounds are still as immaculate as they were then! The only thing different is that they’ve added the tent venue – which is such a wonderful alternative if you’re not looking to have your reception in their barn. The last time we shot here was back in 2014 – Keir + Laura. We really do love this wedding venue as it just has so much going on here. There’s no need to drive anywhere for a photoshoot as you are really spoilt for choice with a variety of spaces to film.
We got to work with a couple of familiar faces at this wedding which was a really nice bonus. You may recognize the magician they hired – X-Ray. We shot a few corporate videos for X-Ray over the years and back in 2017 we shot his very own wedding too – Ray + Danny. He’s a great guy and a great magician if you are looking for some fresh entertainment at your next event!
We worked with the photographer Derek Hui in the past too – Joanne + Carlson. He is so easy and chilled to work with, which is what we love when working with a photographer.
Gladys and Ryan, it was an honour to be the ones to get to tell your incredible story. There were so many emotional moments throughout the day as we learned more and more about the two of you and your lives. Stories like yours makes us love what we do, and it motivates us to continue sharing journeys of real love. We often tell people that we see our videos more like family videos rather than a wedding video. The big day is the perfect opportunity to tell all the ones you love what they mean to you and how much you have appreciated their love over the years. With the support of their family and friends around them and the bond that they share between them, we know there is nothing Ryan and Gladys won’t be able to handle as a married couple! We wish you nothing but happiness for all the years to come!
