READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Berkeley Field House | Toronto Wedding | Selina + Chris

Great speeches really make great weddings, especially when it comes to editing the highlight video. And this wedding was jam packed with a variety of hilarious and touching speeches that left us with so many options when it came to editing this wedding. It’s not surprising that there were so many laughs when you find out the groom has done stand-up comedy before! I still don’t know how anyone would have enough nerves to go up solo in front of a live audience and try to make them laugh. Chris is definitely one brave guy! Oh, and speaking of funny, Chris’ choice of a reading for the ceremony was amazing! Spike from Buffy the Vampire Slayer is so romantic and wise 🙂

This courageous and funny groom needs a great lady by his side, and Selina is it! She was sweet from the very start and looked amazing on the big day! The dress was custom made and so unique – Joanie was in love and wanted to make sure I mentioned that in the blog! This flowy dress + wind = amazing slow mo shots! Thank you Selina for designing with us in mind!

This stunning wedding was held at Berkeley Field House in Toronto and was coordinated beautifully by Birch and Lace. They handled everything so well from the beginning to the end of the event, and made our jobs so much easier! Both the wedding Ceremony and Reception were held here which was pretty convenient for everybody involved with the wedding. Downtown parking can be a nightmare sometimes, so only having to find parking once was a blessing. This wasn’t our first time shooting at this venue, so we had a good idea of what to expect with the layout and how to work in both spaces. The last time we shot here was back in 2016 – Christine + Tom The venue is stunning and the staff there are very experienced when it comes to running a wedding, so you feel like you are in good hands the whole time.

Speaking of cool locations, the guys were getting ready in a very spacious loft downtown and it was ideal for me, as a wedding videographer, to capture the action. I never had so much space while shooting the guys getting ready before. Not only was it spacious but it provided a great backdrop for all the action as well. It even got me looking up prices for lofts downtown in the days following the wedding. No joke! But the wife said no (so did my wallet), so lets put that dream to rest with the others.. Married life, eh 🙂

We need to also mention the amazing photographer, Jacquie, from Oak + Olive Collective. It was our first time working with her, but it felt like we had worked with her for years! It was just that easy. Not only is she super friendly and easy to get along with, she is super talented! Check out her work!

Lastly, we must talk about that seating chart! Pictures of all of your guests (mostly in their silliest state) out there for everyone to see! Now that we have seen it done this way, there is no turning back. If we ended up doing a 10 year vow renewal ourselves, we are stealing that idea for sure! A complete no-brainer there. Obviously it took a little extra work finding pictures of everyone, but it provided so many entertaining reactions from all the guests as they arrived. Well done guys!

This was such a great day to be a part of! Thank you so much guys for choosing us to capture your big day and tell your story.

Until the next post,
Henry and Joanie x
