I love all of the different ways we end up meeting our couples!
Raymond was actually part of the bridal party for one of our couples last year, Derek + Fedora. When filming that wedding, Raymond and Thea came up to us at the reception, where right there on the spot, we sorted out a consultation to meet and discuss their own wedding! With them being based in Hong Kong, they were in a crunch to plan in the little time that they were in Canada. Luckily for us, they liked how we worked at the wedding and enjoyed our portfolio – and the rest is history!
These two met in school so they’ve been together for quite a while – so it is an understatement to say they know each other really well. The two are an ambitious pair who have demanding jobs in Hong Kong, so it was easy to understand how their personalities would cross over into wedding planning. They knew what they wanted, planned accordingly, and executed everything to a tee! Because of this, there were no hiccups on the day, things happened when they were supposed to, and we were on schedule til the very end – rare I must say, for weddings! They treated their guests to fun kissing games, amazing acrobatic performances, and a surprise treat from the groom…a performance of Jason Mraz’s I’m Yours. You could just tell that every one of their guests were enjoying themselves that night, and it all boils down to the couple’s vision! Having all the guests in high spirits really helps with the wedding videography too.
Our groom last year, Derek, was actually the best man for this wedding, and I literally LOL’ed during his speech. Unfortunately it was in Cantonese, so Henry couldn’t enjoy it as much as me! Hopefully all the couple’s guests at their Hong Kong reception appreciated the opening remarks too when they watched this highlight video! Yes, these two had a 2nd reception half way across the world! How lucky are they? They got to celebrate their love twice, and deservingly so.
Thank you to Raymond and Thea for having the faith in us to be your wedding cinematographers! We had a blast at your wedding and so did our bellies…geez the food was GOOOOD! The dessert, a magnificent blueberry crumble, was presented in front of us and Henry almost died (seriously, his favourite!). Bravo to the kitchen staff at Eagle’s Nest Golf Club!
Until the next post,
