Did you know that Florence, the bride, is a pastry chef? She made her own wedding cake! (Just like our bride Andrea, from Sweet Sister Chic Sister) How cool is that? We learned that she also speaks many different languages, traveled the world, went on archaeological digs like Indiana Jones and is basically a genius (shout out to her sister for such a fab speech!)…we agree with her sis that she is humble because we literally knew none of these cool facts until the wedding day! This humble genius needs the perfect sidekick no? Step in Ambrose. He’s the solid type of guy that you know will just be there for you, no matter what. He has a dry sense of humour which we found hilarious, so there will be no shortage of laughs for Florence. They really did have that ying and yang thing that made their relationship so perfect! We traveled between a few different locations on the day of the wedding, two of which we’ve been to before. Kortright centre, famous for its stunning cathedral of trees, was where we filmed Nick + Katlyn’s wedding and countless other photoshoots for our other couples. And then the wonderful Hazelton Manor was where we filmed Annie + Victor’s.
Kortright centre was the perfect backdrop for Ambrose and Florence’s photoshoot. Since it was the beginning of November, it was pretty darn cold and we needed a space that offered lots of opportunities for amazing photos in one spot. Other than it being chilly, we were very lucky with the weather and the light! The couple’s wonderful photographer Melissa Sung, whom we’ve worked with before, made it easy for us all to work in tandem together to be as efficient as possible with the time. In between shots we’d have to cover up Florence with a jacket, but she was an absolute trooper! Anything for the photo and video right?
Ambrose and Florence are foodies, so it was important that they picked a reception space that would offer the food standards they expect! So Hazleton Manor delivered! Boy were we happy with the selection 🙂 Before we even got to the main course, the options they had for antipasti bar and all the appetizers had our bellies full. The fresh oyster bar was definitely the highlight! If you didn’t get there fast, then you’d miss out! People were definitely going back for thirds and fourths! With us constantly filming and observing, we know 😉
As we mentioned previously, Florence’s sister gave an outstanding speech and we guess it must run in the family because Florence’s dad had us cracking up with his. His line about his hand turning into a fist was the best punchline we’ve heard in a long time! And Ambrose following up with his line about the fist in his speech, was priceless. Again, you’ll need to watch the video to see what we’re talking about!
We want to thank the couple once again for letting us be a part of such a special day. Our bellies were full of good food and hurting from all the laughter! It was such a great day and we feel super lucky that we got to capture it all! To your next adventure!
