Genuine is the first word that comes to mind when Joanie and I talk about these two. This was one of those times when there was no face-to-face meet-up before the wedding. But boy did we feel comfortable around these two and their lovely families from the get-go. They are two young folks who are very comfortable in their own skin and with each other, and it came across throughout the whole day.
As wedding videographers, we see a lot of amazing speeches. But there was something about Jeremy’s speech in particular that really hit me hard. I cried during at least two points of Jeremy’s speech – the part about his close relationship with his brother, and the bit about finding someone that actually loves him back. So real, so genuine and so endearing. That was the whole theme of the day that Joanie and I took home.
As for the venue, it was not our first time shooting a wedding at King’s Riding Golf Club. Back in 2013 we shot Amy + Alfred’s wedding there. This venue is full of natural light which really helps out when it comes to wedding cinematography. There are also plenty of areas on the golf course for the photoshoot. So we didn’t have the hassle of having to drive to a new location to get the photographs and videos wanted.
I just want to mention that the first song we used, The Luckiest by Ben Folds, is one we have been waiting to use for a while. The first time we heard it was at Joanie’s best friend’s wedding that we filmed. A friend of the couple performed it for the crowd, and there was not a dry eye in the house! Such beautiful lyrics! The second song used was Bonfire Heart by James Blunt, an all around fun song that you can’t help but sing along to!
To sum up, we would just like to thank Jeremy and Melanie for trusting us with videography for their wedding day. It was quite an honour to be there and witness all the love in the room.
Until our next post,
Hen, nuthin but love x
