We didn’t get the opportunity to meet Liisa and Steve before the wedding, but they made us feel instantly like friends the minute we met them on the big day. They are both super laid back and just go-with-the-flow type of people which is perfect on a stressful day like a wedding. They just enjoyed the day to the fullest and didn’t let any of the tiny details get in the way!
Steve’s a firefighter and played hockey growing up, so you might assume that he’d have a rough, macho-man exterior. But truly, he’s a softy 🙂 His speech during the reception proved that and certainly generated a few tears from family and friends. Liisa was telling me in the morning that one of her wishes was to have Steve shed some tears during the wedding…goal accomplished! Another one of our wedding videos where the groom got teary-eyed (which we love!) was Ashley + Shane’s wedding. A similar country-feel to this day with a beautiful setting.
Ok, so we LOOOOVE when we get to film at Kurtz Orchards. It’s an absolutely stunning property! In the words of the bride, it is truly magical! Each time we have filmed here, we’ve been under the tent for the reception, but this time around we got treated to an entirely different experience – dinner under the cherry trees! The couple lucked out with the weather and got to experience something so intimate and unique on such a big day in their lives. It was definitely a treat for all of the guests! With a venue like this, Henry tends to go drone-crazy! So you’ll notice quite a bit of aerial action in this video. What better way to remember the place that you became husband and wife in! Another location that looked great from the sky was Melanie + David’s wedding at Whistle Bear Golf Club.
Normally when we film weddings, the wedding party is quite large, but this time around there was only a MOH and a best man. You could truly see the strength of these relationships as they interacted with each other on the day and spoke about each other in their speeches. We love witnessing great bonds like this because we understand how hard it is to find good friends that support you through the struggles, share in the good times, and just gets you!
Lastly, we have to say a huge thank you to Liisa’s parents for making this all happen! Our videography services was actually a gift from them to the beautiful couple. What an amazing present! I don’t know if this gift is better or the horse they gave Liisa when she was younger LOL! We love how the horse was a way to distract Liisa from boys. I guess the horse couldn’t distract her forever! Great thing is, she found a person that is going to truly take care of her and in turn, give Liisa’s parents some peace of mind. It was really great to see how well both families got along too and welcomed each other from the start.
Thank you Liisa and Steve for giving us an experience to remember – it’s our first ever wedding reception filmed under the sky and we’ve been doing this for 8 years! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness together!
