READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex | Toronto Wedding | Kaushalya + Aravinda

wedding held at Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex in Toronto

So this one was a special one for me. I got an inquiry last year that wasn’t just any inquiry, it was from Kaushalya, a childhood friend that I hadn’t seen in a very long time. I literally went to school with her from elementary school all the way through to University. I was so excited to hear that she was getting married and that she wanted me to film her big day! What an amazing thought, not only would I be part of an old friend’s massive celebration but it would be a reunion too!

After meeting her for a consultation, it was as if no time had passed. We just started from where we left off and I felt like I was 12 years old again. It’s like all the memories came rushing back and I was transported in time. All of this made filming her wedding day that much more important to me. I just felt a sense of obligation and even more pressure to do it right. We are so happy with the video that we came up with as we really felt it represented the couple to a tee!

We didn’t meet Aravinda until the day of the wedding, but quite quickly, we could get the sense of the type of guy he was. It was clear that he adored Kaush just by the way he looked at her. A gentleman to the core with quiet confidence, and just a solid and stand-up guy. I’m so happy that Kaush found a man that will treat her right and look after her for the rest of her life. She deserves that and all the happiness in the world that goes with it! We also learned that Aravinda has a very famous shiny shirt that he used to sport (or still sports…according to Kaush it’s retired! LOL!) – I hope to see it in person on day! C’mon Kaush, let him wear it just once again…for me!!!

Before I sign off, I must mention Trinity College Chapel, the beautiful church that they held their ceremony in. It’s the first time we’ve filmed there and we hope it’s not the last! The amount of natural light streaming through lit up the space and made everything and everybody look stunning! The colours just came out so rich and everyone’s skin glowed – it was as if we were in heaven! Really happy that the couple picked this church and can’t wait to film there again in the future. And since we’re on the topic of beautiful spaces, their reception was held at Liberty Grand Entertainment Complex which is an excellent venue – loads of space with lots of character that doesn’t require crazy amounts of decor to make it look great. We’ve filmed here before for Natalie + Emil’s wedding, and we remember saying all the same amazing things after their big day.

We have to thank Kaush and Aravinda for choosing us to capture their wedding day. Even though we went to school together Kaush, it doesn’t mean that I should automatically get the job! I’m glad you trusted in me (and Henry) to capture your memories to cherish for a lifetime!

Until the next post,
Joanie x
