READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Lora Bay | Cottage Wedding Video | Joelle + Tom

We all want to bring as much meaning as possible to our wedding day. Joelle and Tom was able to do this by holding their wedding ceremony at Joelle’s family cottage where she shared so many meaningful memories with those close to her. Their garden leading onto the gorgeous beach and open water, made Joanie and I feel like we were shooting a destination wedding somewhere in the Caribbean. It was nice having this experience without having to sit on a plane for 4 hours! Although shooting a wedding video in Mexico isn’t bad either – (Michael + Michelle) One of the perks of being a wedding videographer 🙂

As if there wasn’t enough meaning to this ceremony space already, Tom and his family got involved by building the stunning chuppah and Joelle’s brother performed the ceremony under it! Everything looked incredible with the backdrop of that blue and tourquise water! You could also find old family photos of previous weddings within both families hanging on a nearby wall. As far as ceremony spaces go, I don’t think you can get much better!

This lovely couple found us because we shot the wedding of one of Joelle’s brothers back in 2013 – (Travis + Nicole). It’s always so cool when we show up at a wedding and feel like we know a lot of people already. It was truly a mini reunion seeing so many familiar faces! It happens quite a lot these days, as we’ve been doing this for almost 9 years now. We couldn’t be happier that Joelle and Tom decided to have us capture their big day, we honestly couldn’t have picked two sweeter people to work with. They are truly the perfect example of ‘ying and yang’ and people that balance each other out to make the ultimate power couple!

The wedding reception was held at Lora Bay Golf Club. The reception space was very unique and worked really well for all the wedding-related activities. Each speaker had the perfect place to stand where all the guests could see him or her. The dance floor provided enough floor space (which was essential because of the hora!), and guests didn’t have to walk very far to get to the bar (super important!). It just felt extremely cozy and homey which we’re sure the couple wanted based on what we experienced at the ceremony!

We have to also mention the photographer – Tara from Tara Lily Photography . She was just super cool and easy to work with and as you can see from her photos – incredibly talented! As wedding videographers, it’s such a nice bonus when we just instantly click with the photographer. She had great ideas and it was just easy for everyone to feel comfortable around her. Check out her work if you want to be inspired!

Thanks for having us guys! Hope to see you all at the next family event 🙂

Lot of love,
Henjo x
