READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Mildred’s Temple Kitchen | Toronto Wedding | Jann + Leah

This is our first post since the world just kinda turned upside down and we all began social distancing to work together towards a common goal. It seems ages away from the times where everyone was celebrating together with family and friends for occasions such as weddings! Although things have changed drastically, we know such celebrations will happen in the future and we will soon be documenting love stories like Jann and Leah’s once again! Being wedding videographers for nearly a decade now, getting back to telling stories is what we’re looking forward to most when things go back to ‘normal’!

So, thinking back to Jann and Leah’s big day, we just remember it being jammed packed and filled with amazing content for us to use for this highlight video! They held two ceremonies in one day and put on a fun-filled reception with great food, games and some wild dancing! They were the sweetest couple and had us enjoying every single moment with them throughout the day and night. The last time we remember filming two ceremonies in a day was Tushar and Nadia’s wedding – which was jammed packed with action as well!

These two currently live in San Francisco and have resided in many places around the world. That is why the saying, ‘Home is wherever I’m with you’ means so much to them, as well as the song, ‘Feels like Home’. It was no surprise that we chose the song we did for the first half of their video. Glad we were able to also incorporate the live performance of the song sung by one of their friends to make it that much more personal.

‘Personalized’ was actually the theme of the day for the couple. We love when couples incorporate people they love and symbols of their relationship throughout their wedding, as it creates special meaning to everything happening on the big day. They had a friend as the officiant for the 2nd ceremony, readings and live performances by loved ones, a ring warming ceremony, yoga table cards – everything was representative of them in one way or another. If you attended that wedding as a guest, you would probably say, ‘Yeah, this is sooooo Jann and Leah’.

Speaking of things that were reflective of the couple, they chose the perfect venue to suit their personalities. They really wanted a wedding venue that was simple yet elegant, and offered really good food. Enter, Mildred’s Temple Kitchen. It was our first time filming at this venue, but we’ve been previously as customers for their famous blueberry pancakes! They didn’t disappoint with the food and the surroundings were also perfect for an intimate and cozy cocktail hour and reception. We were very pleasantly surprised when we saw that those famous blueberry pancakes was the dessert course – yum! Great option if you don’t have a massive guest count.

We also must mention that we got to work again with one of our fave photographers Eric Cheng Photography. So easy to work with and a great person all around – super talented as well. We all went to Polson Pier to do the photo/video shoot and we couldn’t have been happier with the skyline as the background. We were lucky enough to catch a couple of planes flying in the background too, as it relates so well to Jann and Leah’s story. We also went to Osgoode Hall to get a few more shots which is a popular spot for photoshoots. We remember being here last with Joanne and Carlson for their big day, so check it out to see if it suits your needs!

Thank you Leah and Jann for letting us tell your story (and also for that unexpected street dog you bought us in Toronto – we could do with one of those right now!)! We hope that you both are keeping well and staying safe in these unprecedented times. We know your love will get you through anything! Keep in touch guys!

Lots of love,
Henjo x
