We love it when our couples lay it all out on the table when it comes to the Q&A. There was no holding back with these two. They gave us a such honest and open answers to questions about their relationship, that we truly felt like we knew the ins and outs of how they fell in love in a matter of minutes! We could grasp their personalities so easily, and completely understand why these two would end up hitting it off! They are just made for each other, and we couldn’t picture two better people to be together and make this commitment for life. They are beyond ready!
A great way to describe Cassandra is ‘determined’! If she sets her eyes on something, she’s going to get it one way or the other. Perfect example of this? The story of her stunning dress designed by the talented Monique Lhuillier. 15 years ago, she saw the dress on ‘Say Yes to the Dress’ and she couldn’t get it out of her mind. She knew that when it came time to getting hitched, that THAT was the dress she was going to wear. So, as soon as she was engaged, she went hunting! Unfortunately, she found out the dress was discontinued. But did that stop her? No, of course not! She contacted Monique Lhuillier herself asked if there was any way to try the dress on. The only solution was to fly all the way to New York to the designer’s store, for a fitting. Annnnd, off Cassandra went with her mom! It was not a wasted trip that’s for sure, because once she put on the dress, there was no question she was getting it. The dress was coming back to Canada! Cassandra was absolutely glowing on her wedding day, so the effort was certainly worth it 🙂
As for Chris, we think Cassandra described him perfectly when she said he’s the type of guy that gets complimented when he fires someone. He’s in the field of HR so, it’s part of the job description! But with his lovely disposition and ability to communicate with an air of positivity, a normally hostile situation, turns out well apparently! He’s definitely in the right line of work!
This wedding was beautiful to say the least! We have always been an admirer of Rachel Clingen’s design work, and she didn’t disappoint when beautifying the ceremony and reception spaces at the Palais Royale. The florals were on point as always, and the colours just came together so nicely – it was certainly a feast for the eyes! It helps when the venue is situated right on lakeshore, and you can see the beautiful body of water and skyline before you when exchanging vows. It was a perfect opportunity to get a drone shot too to set the scene. Last time we filmed at Palais Royale, we were capturing memories for Joanne + Carlson. A wonderful venue with a lot of history and special meaning for the bride. Her grandparents used to go there back in the day to go dancing!
We also got to work with wedding planner extraordinaire, Love By Lynzie. The team made our job so much easier on the day as they were there every step of the way to let us know what was coming up – so we were always prepared! That’s definitely key for us as wedding videographers because we never want to miss even a second of action and we just need those extra few seconds to get into place! We actually worked with the owner of Love By Lynzie in a different capacity when we filmed her singing as the lead in a band called, Electric Blonde. Her band rocked it during our couple, Melanie + David’s wedding reception. A band definitely gives a wicked vibe to your big day!
Speaking of wedding bands, Sensation Live was the band that the couple chose to play at their wedding reception. From the instrumentalists to the singers, they were absolutely incredible and got everyone on their feet to dance the night away! The biggest bonus for me was bumping into an old highschool friend, who happened to be one of the lead singers in the band! We just all of sudden locked eyes backstage and ran towards each other! The uber talented Nicole Faye sings her heart out at every event – you gotta check her out!
Needless to say, this wedding was a great one to film! Beyond the fact that it was a stunning event, it came with all the love and emotion we could ask for on a wedding day! Chris’ mom was definitely looking down on them and gave us the most gorgeous weather to celebrate in! Cassandra, that drawing you gave Chris was beautiful – we were in tears!
Thank you Chris and Cassandra for letting us be a part of your special day! We love filming love and you guys are the definition of it! Hope you both are keeping well and enjoying the honeymoon phase together in these surreal times!
