We knew the minute we met Gorett and Gianni (a.k.a. G&G), that we would click on a different level – they were super genuine and had the exact same sense of humour as us! Here’s a quote from Gianni at our consultation…“We knew people as crazy as you two would be perfect to film our wedding day.” Normal people might’ve been offended by that statement, but as many of our followers know, we’re not normal. Following that sentence was, “we watched your love story video!” Ohhhhhh! LOL! It all makes sense now! Yes, we are now known as crazies with a very twisted sense of humour, and we both LOVE it!!!
VENUE: G&G held their wedding at Paradise Banquet & Convention Centre which is one of the longest running banquet halls in Vaughan. They offer 6 different reception spaces with varying capacities to accommodate your guest numbers (ranging from 120 to 900 guests). If you’re going for elegance and opulence, it’s definitely one on the list that you should check out. This venue has lots of space, high ceilings, and grand chandeliers – usually a perfect foundation for decorators that need to work with this sort of theme and feel.
WEDDING COORDINATORS (and DECOR): Speaking of decorators, we need to give a shout out to O.M.G. Events! Their name doesn’t lie, they offer services and decor that seriously make you say, “Oh My Gosh!” The co-owners are another husband and wife team (an instant connection just on that point!) named Alexandria and Mark. Just like G&G, we got on like a house on fire with the both of them! Sweet, friendly, organized, creative, genuine – everything you want in wedding coordinators! They just make your life easier. Whether you’re just looking for wedding advice, or want to be completely worry-free about planning and the execution of your event, O.M.G. Events offer different packages for your needs. Besides wedding coordination, they also offer wedding decor services. This can include backdrops, stage design, decor rentals – it could be a one stop shop for any bride. They did a fantastic job in both wedding coordination and decor for G&G, and we know the couple can attest to that as well! They were our go-to at the reception if we had any questions as wedding videographers and really ensured the whole day ran smoothly. Can’t wait to work with these two again!
ENTRANCE: What an entrance! Gianni needs to audition for Bon Jovi STAT! I’ve never seen someone sing along to an entrance song with such gumption and emotion – it was truly the perfect start, to a perfect evening! We knew after that night, that we needed to do the entrance justice by making it the intro to the whole video, because as you saw, it deserved to stand on its own! The song they used was, Born to be My Baby, by of course, the one and only Bon Jovi.
MUSIC:The song we chose for this couple was the beautiful Crazy by Stars Go Dim because we felt it was the perfect contrast to the Bon Jovi intro. It brought the wedding video back to the heart of what these two mean to each other! It was also a great song that provided a good foundation for some heartfelt and funny speeches through the night! Gianni’s speech about his first encounter with Gorett was hilarious…sometimes you gotta play hard to get girls LOL!
CENTERPIECE GAME:We have seen plenty of centerpiece games throughout our years doing wedding cinematography, but the one played at G&G’s wedding had a great twist! As many of the guests expected, hankerchiefs were told to be swung, circling around the table was mandatory, and everyone was told to get on the dance floor for the next step….actually, there was no next step, and the winner of the centerpiece was just the shortest person at the table! But now that everyone’s butt was up and on the dancefloor, everyone just started dancing (they might as well – they’re already there!). What a great way to start the dancing portion of the night and to get the dancefloor buzzing full of people!
Gorett and Gianni, we are so happy that you thought we were the right amount of crazy to film your big day! We were laughing throughout the night and couldn’t help but feed off of the love and infectious joy in the room! You were troopers throughout the photoshoot – even when it was cold and raining – and you managed to put smiles on your faces and do anything we threw at you to help the wedding videography! You two are amazing and we can’t thank you enough for choosing us to be you wedding videographers.
Until the next post,
Joanie x
