READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Pearson Convention Center | Mississauga Wedding | Demelza + Shaan

We love shooting weddings where we know the bride and groom already! Shaan and Demelza are friends with Joanie’s younger sister Carolyn, so that is how we first met them years ago. They’ve always praised our work and have been too kind (resulting in my head getting massive!) so we were thrilled when they reached out to us for their big day. Or should I say two big days? Yup, it was an epic two day wedding celebration involving two ceremonies and two people in love (two is the lucky word!). Shooting multiple day weddings gives us an insane amount of footage to choose from while editing which really helps on the creative end of things. The only tricky part is, we are often left wondering what amazing clips will ultimately have to get left out as you can only squeeze so much into a wedding highlight video. But at the end of the day, that is a great problem to have as an editor.

So what are the most important things to mention in this short summary. Well of course I have to mention that the two brother-in-laws of Shaan really reminded me of Key + Peele. That’s incredibly important right? 😉 They just had so much good energy about them, that you don’t even need to actually speak to them to figure out that they are mad cool. That leads me to say that we both really felt welcomed no matter who we interacted with. It’s always important for Joanie and I to figure out who is who, near the beginning of the day so we can focus in on the right reactions from the right people. In doing so, we always ask the family members to point out key people and they were all just so helpful throughout both days.

The venue for day one was Harding Waterfront Estate and it was our first time shooting there. It was a really impressive wedding venue and to add to the beauty, the weather that evening was just perfect! The following day the wedding reception was held at Pearson Convention Center. The first thing I have to mention is the decor by Xclusive Designs! It was out of this world! We actually are struggling to think of a wedding that rivaled the decor at this wedding. One other wedding with amazing decor that springs to mind is Alexandra + Daniel’s held at Hart House.

Speaking of amazing vendors, we had a blast working with Shauna Heron from Shauna Heron Photography. Such an amazingly genuine and talented individual! Honestly was a breeze working alongside her. Hopefully we get to work with her again in the future!

It’s always so cool for us to run into couples we previously worked with. You may recognize one of the MC’s in this wedding video. It was none other than Joshua! We filmed his wedding back in 2016 – Tara + Joshua It was so nice catching up and reminiscing about their wedding day. It always feels like just yesterday. We always remember each wedding day so clearly as we spend weeks editing all of their footage – it’s literally burned into our memory.

Demelza and Shaan, thanks once again for trusting us to tell your story! We look forward to reminiscing with you about it all one day in the future 🙂

Until the next post,
Henry + Joanie
