‘Life of the party.’ I think that is the perfect way to describe both Amanda and Greg. They know how to have fun and encourage those around them to have fun too! Amanda is obviously stunning, but she also has an addictive personality – sweet, funny, and one of the friendliest people we’ve ever met! We basically know why Greg is head-over-heels in love with this girl! We must say though, that Greg isn’t too shabby himself! Just like Amanda said, his charm has a way of winning ANYONE over! I mean, giving your bride-to-be a card with stick drawings of a boy and his ‘ahem’ and a girl and her ‘you know whats’- that’s gotta be the most charming thing ever LOL! Definitely had to include this in the wedding video. Oh, and on top of all this charm, we can’t forget his hypnotizing baby blues 🙂
From the moment we met this couple, it was non-stop chit chat and pure fun. We just had a right laugh all the way through our consultation. It was important that we captured this same sort of vibe in their wedding video. We always tell our couples, we don’t know until after the wedding, what type of video you’re gonna get – whether it be emotional, upbeat, fun, romantic, or a mix of a few! This wedding certainly gave us the fun factor we needed to produce a video like this (I mean, listen to all the speeches!), but the unexpected emotional moments between the couple and their parents made us add that breakdown in the middle. The emotions could not be ignored and were wedding videography gold!
We also have to mention the venue – The RedCrest Clubhouse at Cardinal Golf Club provided ample natural light which really aided the wedding cinematography.
When Amanda’s father mentioned the movie, ‘Father of the Bride’, we knew that the theme song needed to be included somewhere in their video. It is the perfect song to showcase all the amazing decor that Amanda dreamed up (all I can say is, ‘wow!’ Check out the vendors below for details), and most importantly, the wonderful relationship between father and daughter. It’s funny how having a daughter has changed the way I hear these father-of-the-bride speeches. They touch me in a different sort of way. I can put my hands up and say that I’ve gotten choked up behind the camera listening to these speeches before I was a mom, but it’s now been taken to a whole other level! I always just imagine Henry being up there at the podium in the future saying the same things about Lea!
Man, so many highlights happened at this wedding that it’s hard to touch upon them all! On top of the fact that there was an ice cream truck for everyone to enjoy at the end of the night, we must mention the lovely gift that was given to the couple from their grandparents – a gorgeous quilt that they hand-sew for all of their grandchildren on their wedding day. What a sweet moment that we were able to capture in our wedding cinematography.
Before we finish this post, we gotta give props to the maid-of-honour for rapping her speech to Eminem’s ‘Lose Yourself’ – never seen a speech like this before, and we’ve seen many! Award must be given to her for most unique speech ever!
Well, I’ll leave it up to the video for you all to enjoy the rest of Greg and Amanda’s highlights. We want to thank the couple for letting us be a part of their special day and for trusting in us to capture all their memories. You guys are awesome!
Until the next post,
Joanie x
