South Pond Farms | Bethany Hills | Kerri + Craig

South Pond Farms Bethany Hills wedding video videography barn wedding

COUPLE AND GUESTS: Fun-loving couple is the best way to describe Kerri and Craig! Even though they’ve been together since high school, they still had that giddy glow about them like they just started dating! They were lovely the minute we met them and we knew we could make a fantastic video that showed off both their personalities.  They were open to do anything on the day and had a bunch of ideas to boot! Leap frog?!? Craig’s idea!

I have to mention the fantastic guests at the wedding too – this includes all of the couple’s family and friends…so funny and not camera shy at all! Especially the kiddies! Aren’t those two little sheriffs the cutest things??? This all makes for great footage for any wedding videographer!

VENUE: South Pond Farms was where the reception was held, and it was absolutely gorgeous! Acres and acres of rolling land stretched out far into the distance; bales of hay everywhere to give it that extra authentic country feel. I felt like I was transported into a different world! I couldn’t believe we were just over an hour drive from Toronto!  The barn was amazing – suited for a smaller to medium sized wedding.  Like I said in my Jos + Kerri post about barn weddings though, one thing to consider is the lack of air conditioning.  If you can’t handle the heat, then maybe the barn venue is not for you! We were comfortable, but some others might like 22 degree temperatures!  Also, remember the bug spray! They were nice enough to have some around for everyone!

DÉCOR: So when I said “Martha Stewart – eat your heart out” in our mini teaser for this video, I really meant it! I’ve already told Kerri that I’m going to be stealing some of her ideas for my own wedding next year!  Vintage/Rustic/Country/Romantic sums it up! What I loved loved loved the most were the unique chairs and china at every table.  Each chair had that old rustic country feel but were all different in its make. Old books for centerpieces, the use of old fashioned lace and antiques, hand knitted lace table overlays, type writer for notes to the couple, a wooden French door propped outside with the seating chart written on each glass window…seriously, I could go on! All of this just fit with the wooden textures of the barn as a backdrop.

PHOTOGRAPHY: This gorgeous day was captured in stills by the team Almost Married (made up of Ciji and Jonathan). They were so fun to work with on the day (such upbeat, bubbly personalities!), and they produce amazing pics! Check out their photos of Kerri and Craig’s wedding day!  If you’re looking for creativity and an editorial style for your wedding photos, definitely hit them up!

CLASSIC CAR: Are you loving the ride the couple pulled up in? I know I did! Classic Rides for Brides is where you should look for that added vintage touch to your wedding!

DJ/MC: We have to say that the DJ/MC was absolutely amazing! He was one of Kerri and Craig’s friends, but he should honestly be doing this for a living! Unfortunately no business details to give out for him, but we wanted to give him a shout out because he was so helpful that day and so good at what he was doing! A proper radio voice!

MUSIC FOR VIDEO: Craig is big on his music, so we knew we had to work with him to find a song that would really represent the wedding day that they had…and we found it with his first choice! The song used is “Home” by Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros – you can buy it on itunes here.

A BIG THANK YOU to Kerri and Craig for being so welcoming and accommodating throughout this whole process. Your fun-loving spirits really made this video special – it just shines through on film! Congratulations once again – you two are seriously made for each other – I think 12 years is proof of that!!! 🙂

Until the next post,
Joanie x
