READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Supreme Banquet Hall | Woodbridge | Diana + Ashur

COUPLE: Seriously, these two should be on an advert for Colgate right? These beautiful smiles were constant throughout the day and night which made our jobs as wedding film makers that much easier! It really reflected the type of people Diana and Ashur were – happy, fun, sweet, and caring people!  Even in the midst of all the craziness of their wedding, both of them made sure to ask us about our wedding next year! I was like, ‘no, this is your day!’ It really just showed their caring nature and how they are all about the people around them. They made us feel more like their guests instead of their wedding videographers. The sweet gifts and cards they sent to each other were also a testament of their true love – seriously…*tear*!

VENUE: The couple had their wedding reception at Supreme Banquet Hall in Woodbridge and it was certainly the perfect setting for their glam decor ideas. A massive reception space and also a lovely area for cocktails, it certainly will check a lot of your boxes for an elegant and chic wedding. The entrance had a lovely modern water fountain and a greeting area with cocktails (yum!). There was also a huge dance floor which proved useful for all the traditional Assyrian dancing going on, and the extra space helped out with the wedding videography too.

DECOR: As I mentioned above, the decor was chic, elegant and glam! It had that same type of glamorous feel that we got from Dan + Aneta’s wedding. There was a bluish lighting going on throughout the reception hall and it certainly added to the feel of the event. Lighting actually played a big part in setting the tone for the night. I loved the individual spotlights on the centerpieces particularly – it just really made them pop!  Talk to your venue (or DJ company) about how creative you can be with the lighting – it really makes a difference!  Keys have a special meaning to the couple, so it was used as somewhat of a theme throughout the venue – table numbers, table seating chart etc. And you might have noticed in the video a quick shot of their rings interlocked with a couple of keys!

FATHER DAUGHTER DANCE: One of the sweetest dances I’ve witnessed at a wedding! Diana’s dad was undoubtedly a modern Fred Astaire! He had the most classic moves and was taking Diana along for the ride (she did a great job of keeping up!). The love between father and daughter was evident, and I could hear a collective ‘Awwww’ from the crowd when they began their dance. I’ve never seen a dad so completely natural on the dance floor – good job Papa Cavazzon!

CAKE: Omg, how cute are those cake toppers? Adorable! I didn’t get a chance to ask the bride about where they got their cake made, but I’m hoping to get them to give me the deets and I’ll update this post! *UPDATE* Just heard from the bride and the cake was made by Royal Cakes by Annette (cute little topper made by the bride herself and her sister – great job girls!).

MUSIC: The song we chose was Say (All I Need) by One Republic. You can download it off itunes here. LOVE this song – it just suited the footage so well! As an editor, I need to listen to the chosen song over and over again when editing, but I never got sick of this one! Actually, I would put it on blast most times and do a bad karaoke version of it…the perks of editing in the comfort of my own home 🙂

THANK YOU Diana and Ashur once again for an amazing day! You two are one of the loveliest couples we’ve ever met!

Until the next post,
Joanie x
