READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

The Burroughes Building | Ugandan Wedding | Margaret + Arthur

After almost 7 years of shooting wedding videos we have pretty much covered every culture out there. Now we can add Ugandan wedding to our list! We love experiencing all that different cultures have to offer at weddings, so it’s safe to say we were thrilled when Margaret and Arthur found us and ended up choosing us to capture their big day. If I remember correctly, I believe these two stumbled across a wedding video (Eilene + Anthony) we shot back in 2014 at The Burroughes, and it caught their attention. They liked what they saw and set up a meeting with us. From the get-go we knew these guys knew exactly what they wanted and they didn’t debate for too long before booking us. It kinda goes hand in hand with what Arthur’s brother said about him in his speech. If he sets his mind on something he goes after it and gets it.

Both the wedding Ceremony and Reception were held in the same location (Burroughes Building), just on different sides of the room separated by a wall. This made things super convenient for all the guests and every body else included in the wedding. And in terms of photoshoot locations, there are a lot of options for some great street shots, including graffiti alley just a 2 minute walk away. That is where we ended up going to get a few shots of the bridal party together. All in all this venue has a lot to offer, and don’t forget the rooftop too. We have seen this space being used for the cocktail hour in the past and it provides some great views of the city.

We have to mention the amazing entrances that took place at the reception. We were vibing with each of the wedding party members as they strutted their stuff down the long runway. Thank goodness it was a long runway, because they all had a lot to give. I think everyone, including us, wanted to see more! The couple said their entrances were going to be hot, and they didn’t disappoint!

So a couple as cool as Arthur and Margaret, need to have an amazing wedding party no? And they got just that! Every single one of them was so helpful and easy to get along with from the very start, and made our jobs easy by looking good! Hopefully you all watched past the HenjoFilms logo, as one of our favourite speeches and moments of the reception couldn’t be cut down into a highlight and needed to make the cut (check out Margaret’s reaction above – it tells a story in itself)! Kudos to everyone for making such exceptional speeches for all the guests to enjoy!

Well guys, we just want to thank you both again for putting your trust in us to tell your story. You two were the loveliest of people to work with and made us both feel like rock stars from day one, so we knew we had to bring our A game.

Stay in touch!

Nuthin buy luv,
