READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Whistle Bear Golf Club | Cambridge Wedding | Julia + Eric

We remember our meeting with Julia and Eric so clearly. I think it was because they were showering us with compliments and we couldn’t handle it! My head was getting way too big 🙂 We were also excited knowing that we would be shooting at one of our favourite wedding venues – Whistle Bear. This is our 4th wedding at the venue over the years! The last time we shot here was back in 2017 for Danielle + Nate’s wedding.

Where do I start with Julia and Eric’s jam-packed wedding! There were so many different story lines and relationships to squeeze into this highlight video. I have to start with the father/daughter relationship. Hearing how Julia spoke about her dad and vice versa just made my heart melt. I was just picturing our little Lea on her wedding day and what she would be saying about me. The father/daughter relationship is always a beautiful thing to witness at weddings and we always encourage our brides to do a first look with their dad. It’s just a great opportunity to share another special moment on a day filled with them. I remember so clearly after this wedding that Joanie was so chuffed with herself regarding her morning shots. On the drive home from the wedding she was already plotting how she could pair the footage of Julia’s dad dancing with her bridesmaids and high-fiving her, with the ‘7th bridesmaid’ comment during Julia’s Q&A. We love when things work out like that at weddings.

And how about Eric’s smile! It was mentioned a few times throughout the day and rightly so! Get this guy in front of camera for a dental practice promotion right away! Smiling and being happy all the time is simply the best trait. It just makes others want to come over and chat to you and they just feel at ease. Eric definitely possesses this trait and it was easy to capture it on camera as he was beaming the whole day! It’s certainly what captured Julia’s heart!

Another cool aspect of this wedding day that we have to mention is the fact that Julia’s students showed up for her ceremony! This speaks volumes to what her students and their parents think of her. Seeing the interactions with Julia and her students right after the ceremony was so beautiful! There is something about teachers… it’s hard to find one without a good heart! Julia must’ve learned a lot from her mom who is a teacher too! When she spoke about her mom in the Q&A, we couldn’t help but get choked up. Back in 2018 we shot another wonderful teacher’s wedding and some of her students also showed up for her ceremony – Erica + Nick.

We love when couples bring some of their culture to the wedding celebrations. One of our favourite traditions is the good old vodka/water polish tradition. Neither the bride nor groom knows which shot is water or which is vodka. As the tradition goes, whoever ends up with the vodka shot wears the pants in the relationship. From my experience the bride ends up being the boss either way, but now Julia has the tradition to back her up too 🙂 Back in 2018 we filmed another Polish wedding and if you want to see how the tradition unfolded there, take a look – Justyna + Alex.

Alright, that’s enough wedding talk from me! Julia + Eric – love you guys! Wishing you both all the very best in this next chapter together!

Until the next post,
Henjo x
