Ancaster Mill | Hamilton | Katherine + Andrew

Ancaster Mill Hamilton Wedding Cinematography

We actually met Katherine and Andrew the first time through Skype when we were on our trip back to UK. Because of the time difference, the poor things had to wake up super early to skype us – they were such troopers! We really appreciated their effort, and were happy we got the chance to chat and get to know them before the wedding day. Even though we were meeting them virtually, we could feel their warm personalities through the screen (as funny as that sounds)! And when we finally met them face to face at the wedding, it felt like seeing old friends.

FAMILY: I actually found out at the wedding, that the connection between Katherine and I might be stronger than I had originally thought! Katherine’s dad spoke to me during the reception and told me that he is from Kaiping, the same little village that my dad is from in China! What a small world! I actually visited the village on my trip to China nearly 4 years ago, and it was an experience I’ll never forget! Katherine and I must be related somehow generations back 🙂

SPEECHES: We heard some amazing speeches that night – some evoking tears and some creating laughter! Getting that range of emotion, is what a great wedding is all about! Henry went over to Andrew’s uncle just to give him a pat on the back for his kind words to the couple. Katherine’s sister was hilarious, and got a big reaction from the crowd! Her bit asking her dad if he was happy (but it doesn’t matter), cracked me up!

MUSIC: We used the song, If I Lose Myself by the amazing OneRepublic – love their stuff- so many of their songs pair so well with wedding videos!

Thanks again to Katherine and Andrew for waking up in the wee hours of the morning to meet with us, and having us be their wedding videographers!

Until the next post,
Joanie x
