COUPLE: Mino and Kav are so in love; completely in love…it was an interfaith marriage that exemplified respect, tolereance, and acceptance of one another’s beliefs. The sparkle they had in their eyes when they looked at each other, showed that amazing connection we all strive to have in our lives, and made for great wedding videography! Mino was basically bride extraordinaire – meticulous in every detail and on top of everything! She must get this from her mom (AKA superwoman) – Mino’s mom was involved in every way possible, from making the groom’s Buddhist outfit to the amazing wedding cake! Kav was just cool, calm, and collected during the whole process! What a lovely balance!
SIDE NOTE FOR ALL GROOMS-TO-BE (Incl HENRY): Kav did a good job with the ‘getting ready’ pressie – just some food for thought boys! LOL!
CEREMONIES: Kav’s family is Buddhist and Mino’s family is Catholic, so two ceremonies were conducted during the wedding day. It was so nice seeing both sets of parents getting involved in the traditions and rituals of both faiths; ultimately bringing together a union of two amazing people, and two families. The Catholic ceremony was held in Cristo Rei Parish and the Buddhist ceremony was held in the front hall of Grand Empire Banquet & Convention Centre. Both incredibly beautiful to watch!
VENUE: The reception was also held in the Grand Empire Banquet & Convention Centre. The name is truthfully reflective of this place, it is certainly GRAND! If you’re looking for a large hall with tonnes of potential for opulence (see decor), then this is the place for you! It’s extremely new as well, built just this year. Sometimes venues aren’t particularly nice looking on the outside, and then ‘wow’ you when you enter…but this had both! A grand looking building with chandeliers on display through the large windows above the front doors. And in the front entrance, a massive wall to wall fish tank, perfect for wedding cinematography.
DECOR: OK, as I’m sure you saw in the video, the bride did not hold back on the decor! LOL! She basically found the amazing decorators Dream Party Decor Inc.to build that place up for an Arabian Prince and Princess! The couple had a travel theme where one of their guest favors were wine bottles with a passport design – once guests received this passport, they had access into the hall where they were transported into an Arabian Palace! The candles, the chandeliers, the fountains, the lighting, the see-through stage…I could go on! Anyways, check them out if you’re planning a wedding that has glam/fab/opulent written all over it- I’m sure you won’t be disappointed!
FIRST DANCE and MUSIC FOR WEDDING VIDEO: Since Mino lived in Honduras for 7 years and the couple thoroughly enjoy Latin nights out, it was only fitting that the couple chose a Spanish love song for their first dance as hubby and wife. Once we began editing and reviewing the footage, we realized that the same song would work for their highlight video too! The song, Cuando Me Enamore De Ti by Chayanne, means ‘When I Fell in Love with You’…too sweet! And as Mino translated to me afterwards, the lyrics of the song touches on – the most important person in the world/dreaming of them/that person being the sunshine when one wakes up in the morning…what romantics the Spanish are!
DANCE PERFORMANCES: There were so many, that we couldn’t fit them all into the highlight video – and every one of them was entertaining! Especially the ones where Mino and Kav were involved! Give your guests a treat with some performances during the night, it’s a nice way to break up the evening!
FLASH MOB: What a nice (and chereographed!) touch to get the dance party started in the evening! We were prepped about 5 mins before this was going to happen, so we were just as surprised as the bride and grrom! We were so happy to get all these amazing dance moves on film – everyone that participated were such good sports (and of course, dancers!). Although I’m sure it was very difficult to coordinate and plan, it was an excellent and unique way to get people onto the dance floor!
Many thanks once again to Mino and Kav for letting us film their special day – you guys gave us so much material to work with and we had a blast!
Until the next post,
Joanie x
