READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

The Eglinton Grand | Toronto Wedding | Cathy + James

There is a lot we love about being wedding videographers, but let me tell you about one of our favourite moments that always gives us an amazing feeling inside. It’s that feeling we get at the end of a wedding day when both Joanie and I know we have all the footage we need to make a timeless wedding film that the couple will cherish forever. There’s really no feeling like it! And when we work with a wonderful couple that has been so cool to be around, it makes the feeling that much sweeter. Cathy and James put their trust in us from day one and we wanted more than anything to create something special and unique for them.

Normally in our blog posts we talk about the couple, but we are going to let the highlight video cover that. In just under 7 minutes, if you don’t figure out how in love these two are, then you must have clicked on the wrong video 🙂 The backdrop for this beautiful wedding really suited the couple. The Eglinton Grand has that old school nostalgic feel to the place, which totally went along with the vibe of Cathy and James. The last time we shot a wedding at this venue was back in 2016 when one of Joanie’s high school friends got married – Chris + Amanda.

Regarding the music selection, I’ve wanted to use ‘Kiss Me’ by ‘Sixpence None The Richer’ in a wedding video for the last 10 years. No joke! But I knew I had to be patient and wait for the right couple to come along. On top of this, what strengthened my confidence to use such a throwback tune was the fact that the couple suggested it! Thank you guys for finally presenting us with an opportunity to use this tune! The song has been in our head ever since we started editing your video. So much so that I think Joanie and I are gonna bust out the popcorn and watch ‘She’s All That’ again. We love that movie!

What’s my favourite shot of the video? Thought you’d never ask. It has to be the sneaky shot I got of the couple getting hyped up just before being announced for their grand entrance. You just can’t beat the raw shots that you know are real AF. Pretty much sums up how real these two are and how they know how to enjoy the moment. We just love when couples are able to enjoy their wedding day and not sweat the small stuff. It always comes through in the footage. Another shot that gives me the feels is seeing Cathy’s mom watching on as her daughter gets ready. We can just imagine all the thoughts running through her head in this moment. Makes Joanie and I think of how we will feel when our little Lea is not so little anymore and is ready to get married. Queue the tears!

That’s enough blabbering from me. Cathy and James we loved up on each other enough over the last few emails. I’ll just end this post by saying stay in touch and it was a pleasure following you around on such an epic day!

Nuthin but love,
Henjo x
