You won’t find any bride and groom more willing to have fun than Ashley and Peter! These two, along with their whole bridal party, really focused on the true essence of what a wedding should be about – the love and enjoyment of each other and their guests. From morning to night, everyone was just having one big laugh, taking in the moments, and anticipating the next event! As wedding videographers, this is the main thing we look for, as their enjoyment of the day is really what comes across on screen.
Along with the fun though, there was loads of emotion throughout the day and night! Starting with the walk down the aisle during the ceremony. Gets us every time we see both Ashley and Peter’s reaction to each other. We think back to that particular moment too when Ashley’s dad made his speech about his daughter taking the next big step in her life – that father/daughter bond and ‘giving her away’ moment always tugs at our heartstrings. We must also say that Peter’s speech to Ashley during the reception made us shed a tear behind the camera. So heartfelt and so genuine! We love how much Peter loves Ashley!
Another reason we had such a blast at this wedding was because we got to work with the super talented Erin and Ian of Erin Blackwood Photography again! We worked with them three times previously (Jason + Chantelle’s wedding, Laura + Mark’s wedding, Krystana + Christopher’s wedding) and every time it’s an absolute pleasure and breeze! We were able to easily work with each other so that the couples receive the best photos and video possible! It’s a great fit, and we hope to work with them again very soon in the future!
Lastly, we must mention the dancing! Ashley is a part-time dance teacher along with one of her bridesmaids, Taryn. Taryn and some of their dance students put together a surprise performance for Ashley and all of the guests, and it blew them away! It was beautifully choreographed and executed perfectly! The emotion, the music, the ‘forever is…’ quotes by all the girls – basically all came together to create a powerful performance that we’re sure everyone will remember and never forget. What a way to say ‘thank you!’. Oh, on top of all this, we can’t forget the ‘Dad’s hip hip group’ dance performance! And yes, that name is exactly what it sounds like! Ashley also teaches dads how to dance to hip hop – wow! I never knew a class like that even existed…we might have to sign my papa Fong up!
We had an amazing time and can’t thank Ashley and Peter enough for letting us be a part of it all! You guys rocked the house down with your entrances and killed it on the dancefloor! We really liked the idea of getting your guests involved by having a dance-off for the bouquet and the garter too! Really got the party going!
