READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

The Royal Ambassador Banquet | Caledon | Nick + Cristina

The lovely bride reached out to us initially because we shot her brother’s wedding a few years back. We always love filming weddings of couples that are related in some way to previous couples we have filmed before, just because it adds this sense of familiarity and comfort on the day the instant we arrive. This felt similar to when we filmed Andrew + Jessica’s wedding as their cousins (Alice + Ahilun) recommended them to us. Not only were we thrilled to film Cristina and Nick’s big day because of that familial connection, their wedding just seemed to have it all and then some! We couldn’t have been happier after the day to see what we could produce!

Italian weddings are all about family and this one was no different! The amount of relationships we knew we had to touch upon in a 6 minute video was really challenging at first. There was a whole lot of love being vocalized during the speeches and Q&A so we really knew we had a special edit on our hands. We especially love the part where Nick mentioned the reason behind the prayers at the table: ‘A family that eats together and prays together, is a family that sticks together and stays together’.

The venue for both the wedding ceremony and reception was The Royal Ambassador. We have been here a few times over the years now and it always leaves us impressed. Lot’s of stunning backdrops and no need to travel elsewhere for the photo shoot portion of your day. As far as weddings venues go, it really has everything you need. Also, the more we shoot here the more we uncover new locations around the property that work well for capturing great footage. Another venue that springs to mind when I think of having everything in one place is when we shot Andreas and Jessicas wedding at Fields on West Lake. You save some much time travelling when you have the ability to have your ceremony and reception in the same venue.

As usual we were blessed with working with such an easy going couple. What can I say, it was just effortless being around these two. The day ran so smoothly and everywhere we pointed our cameras we were spoiled with emotions and beauty. One of the key relationships of the day that was a joy to capture was the love both Nick and Cristina had for Joseph. When they spoke about him, they both really struggled to keep it together and that was so beautiful to witness. It made everyone’s heart melt in the room including ours.

Speaking about being blessed with working with such a great couple, the photographer was no different. We have worked with Jenn Kavanagh a few times over the years now (Liz + Jem) and she is always on top of her game. She’s awesome at what she does and always a pleasure to work with 🙂

Thanks again Cristina and Nick for having us tell your story.

Until the next post,

Nuthin but luv
