READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

Stratus Vineyards | Niagara-on-the-Lake Wedding | Zerlina + Lanny

First off we have to thank a previous wedding couple of ours – Victoria + Jonathan, for recommending our services to Zerlina. None of this would have been possible otherwise and we really appreciate your confidence in us to take care of your friend’s wedding video.

One quality Joanie and I love about couples on their wedding day, is when they enjoy every moment regardless if everything goes exactly to plan. As you can see in the video it started raining just after their first look. So instead of an outdoor ceremony, they had to have it indoor. Some couples can let this temporarily take the glow out of their faces, but not Zerlina and Lanny. They always remained focused on the bigger picture, which was having all of their nearest and dearest under the same roof to celebrate their love for one another. And this is what shined brightest in the highlight video that we were able to put together for them. Happy faces all around!

The wedding ceremony and reception was held in Stratus Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake. It’s always nice for us to shoot a wedding down in the Niagara region. There’s a lot of natural beauty down there to capture which always helps with the cinematography. Niagara is always a great place to consider when looking for a wedding venue, especially when you have a smaller guest count.

We also have to mention the Q&A sessions. During these one-on-ones we never know exactly what is going to be said. We just do our best to try make the couple as comfortable as possible considering there is a camera directly in front of their faces. It was really cool getting the audio from Zerlina regarding her relationship with her family. It prompted us to try our best to incorporate it into the video somehow and focus on a relationship other than the bride and groom themselves. Other stories/relationships is something we always try to seek out when it comes to the editing process, as we know those relationships tend to be the reason that individuals end up being the way they are. This in turn of course, lends its way to the types of people they meet and fall in love with! It’s an integral part of the whole love story! So thanks to Zerlina and Lanny for opening up and giving us an inside scoop on the different things going through your mind during the wedding process.

Before we go, we must mention that Zerlina is seriously a DIY queen. She did all of the decor herself and it looked absolutely stunning on the day! One of our other brides that was also a DIY master was Amy – Alfred + Amy – we have to applaud all the brides that put all the time and effort into making their big day as personalized as it can be! The results really do make it worth it! Oh and speaking of personalization, the couple incorporated the theme of muay thai into their wedding through the kissing games and traditional ‘shoe’ game (which they used gloves instead!). Lanny owns a muay thai and fitness gym called Stride Conditioning and from what we heard, it’s definitely something to check out if you’re looking to get fit and have fun!

Zerlina + Lanny, thank you both for trusting us to be your wedding videographers and to tell your story!

Nuthin but luv,
Henjo x
