READY TO GO DOWN THE RABBIT HOLE?

The Glenerin Inn & Spa | Mississauga | Robin + Dana

When Robin and Dana first met with us, they were a little bit worried that their wedding wouldn’t produce the kind of footage found in some of our other wedding videos. To be honest, we get this from quite a few couples looking to book us, and we tell them all the same thing. It’s not about saying the ‘perfect thing’ in the ‘perfect way’ or putting on any kind of show. It’s about being yourself and enjoying your day! Every story is different and we want to tell the one that is true to you as a couple! At the end of the day, when your’re watching a video it’s easy to see what’s genuine and what isn’t. You might be able to fake it for a picture, but with video it’s hard to hide! Just like the concerned couples before them, Robin and Dana forgot about the cameras on their wedding day, made the event true to them, and they enjoyed every single moment. During the Q&As in the morning, there wasn’t one answer that they were saying just for the sake of it. They each had a little think on the spot and spoke from their hearts, which is the only way to do it. The part where Dana speaks about how she was so proud to show her family off, really gave Joanie and I goosebumps every time we watched it. And we have seen quite a few wedding videos 🙂

Speaking of families, Robin’s family was hilarious! We couldn’t stop laughing at all the jokes and one-liners that all of them were making during their speeches. You’ll have to check out the video to see what we mean!

We were so happy that these two elementary school teachers (who met at Oscar Peterson Public School) incorporated some school elements into their day. Getting a fellow colleague to be the MC was a great plus! It was as if she was hosting an assembly 🙂 Rhymes were read as some speeches, and they even got their students involved to draw illustrations of, for example, ‘what makes Mr. Madge a good husband’. The pictures were adorable and priceless! Another school-themed wedding we filmed where the couple actually met in kindergarten was Tom and Christine’s wedding.

The whole wedding day was held in one location – The Glenerin Inn and Spa in Mississauga. It was so nice doing a wedding in Mississauga for a change, the drive home was less than 10 minutes 🙂 So, this was our first time shooting a wedding at the Glenerin Inn and Spa and we have to say we were really impressed with the place. It’s so nice to be able to do everything in one location for all the guests and everyone involved with the wedding. You spend less time travelling and more time making memories with the ones you love. Another wedding we can remember filming in Mississauga was Kaitlyn and Habib’s wedding. Mississauga for life! That’s what we say LOL!

Robin and Dana – Thank you for sharing your big day with us and for being so open and real. You made the editing part easy for us 🙂

Much love,
Henry + Joanie x
